FAQ Transfer-Systems
What is the maximum load of the conveyor?
The LOGO!MAT L has a pallet capacity up to 250kg (550lbs.), the LOGO!MAT XL has a pallet capacity up to 600kg (1,320lbs.) and the LOGO!MAT Cart system has a pallet capacity up to 2,000kg (4,400lbs). |
Can the pallet be larger than the track width?
Yes, the pallet is a base plate, which runs within the top rails, but is taller than the top rail. Therefore the pallet top plate and product can be longer and wider than the base plate. |
Which standard speeds are available?
The standard speeds are 10-18m/min, however other speeds are available if needed. Standard speeds can be changed with a simple and inexpensive change by installing a larger or smaller drive sprocket. |
In what areas can you utilize these systems? (Liquids, temperatures etc…)
Because of the design the LOG!MAT systems can be used even in the most harsh surroundings. The rugged chain drive is totally enclosed and the chain is tensioned automatically. Small particles, chippings etc…just fall through the rollers. Slip clutches are pre-lubricated and sealed - therefore the system runs even with heavy appearance of liquids, as oil and emulsions. All parts are corrosion protected and our plastics are durable up to a room temperature of 60ºC (140ºF). |
Is the system inherently safe?
All components are tested for possible sources of danger and guarded accordingly. |
Are there walk-on and low level transport systems available?
There are walk-on and low level LOGO!MAT transfer systems up to 250kg (550lbs.). There is also the LOGO!MAT Cart system for the pallet capacity up to 2,000kg (4,400lbs.) which is also available as a low level or walk-on version. |
Where can you use the systems?
LOGO!MAT conveyors have been proven with our well-known customers in the automotive industry. The high number of loyal customers with repeating orders endorses the reliability and effectiveness of our systems. |
Can you extend and modify the system easily?
All operational elements, such as tracks, corners, diverters, junctions, stop units, index stations etc… are standard components in a complete assembly kit system. Even initial design and assembly are quick and easy because of the modular components. The same applies for extensions and modifications. All components are pre-assembled and easy to install. |
What are most common worn parts?
Wear rarely occurs if the system is used properly. Nevertheless, we recommend a spare gear motor and one of each roller types be kept as a spare part inventory. |
What happens if a roller fails?
Because the pallet always runs on at least 3 driven rollers, there will be no effect to the conveyor function. Even if 1 roller permanently stops, the other rollers move the pallet across the failed roller. |
How often do you have to exchange the chain?
The life of a chain depends on the chain type and the operating conditions. Under regular conditions the life of an oiled chain averages several years in a multiple shift operation. The inevitable stretching of the chain will be corrected with the automatic chain tensioner. You also can easily shorten the chain by removing individual chain links. |
How long does it take to change a roller?
Changeing of a roller takes approximately 2 minutes. |
How long does it take to change a drive unit?
Changing of a drive unit takes approximately 20 minutes (with easy access). The sprocket on the motor shaft does not have to be removed. |
Can pallets be shuttled out of both sides of the conveyor?
The pallet can always be shuttled out of the non-driven side of the conveyor. Our standard cross drive allows us to switch driven sides where needed, such as a shuttle |
Can the system be used on several vertical levels?
The tracks can be placed over top of each other or even arranged in several multiple levels. The different levels can be reached with standardized lifts. |
What is the noise level of the system?
Because of the tangent chain drive (no chain from roller to roller) and the precise chain guides at both the input and return strand, noise is minimal. Many customers are very surprised with how quiet the systems are. |
Is there wear on the pallet when it stops on a driven track?
No, because friction rollers will always be used. Friction rollers have an integrated slip clutch that prevents turning of the roller under a stopped pallet. Fixed driven rollers are only used in the area of corners and diverters. |
How do you adjust a friction roller?
All friction rollers are pre-set during assembly. Roller friction can easily be adjusted by turning the hex nut at the driven end of the roller shaft. The friction rollers come pre-set so that they will drive the pallet but can be stopped easily. |
