With an interval of one (1) month the following preservative maintenance should be carried out:
  1. Check all parts for wear.
  2. Visual check of the unit for damages and detection of leaks.

The pneumatic installation of the stop unit has to be done according to the pneumatic schematics, to guarantee proper functionality. The connections for the pneumatic tubes are designed for a tube diameter of 6 mm. Ensure that pressurized air is dried and filtered and that the pressure is in the stated range. The stopper pin gets reset by a spring so that the release is the only pressurized action.

Sensors have to be installed in the dedicated holders. Cables have to be protected against abrasion and accidental removal. Pay attention in the choice of sensors to have the right switch distance and the suitable size. The controls of the sensors and the used logic can influence the function and performance of the LOGO!MAT Non-cushioned Stop Unit dramatically.

The mechanical locking should never been used during pneumatic operation of the Stop Unit. This causes damage or malfunction.
With the mechanical locking device, you will be able to keep the stopper piston in the lower position to move pallets manually on the roller conveyor or to perform test runs. If the stop piston is pushed down manually and the locking device is engaged, the stop pin will stay in its lower position. To release the piston, the stop pin has to be pushed down while the locking device has to be pulled out. The roller configuration in the area of the stop unit is very important to guarantee a continuous flow after releasing the pallet from the stop unit. Rollers can be shifted in pitch of 57 mm; stub rollers can be used for additional support of the pallet. Sensor holders or RFID tag brackets should be arranged in the roller spacing to avoid stub rollers in those areas. Attention should be taken to have at least three (3) full rollers (not stub rollers!!) in contact with the stopped pallet, when the pallet is in its stopped position of the non-cushioned stop unit. For better performance of the pallet it is more effective to use additional full rollers to add friction surface than increasing the friction...

The unit has to be positioned so that no rollers scratch at the unit and no pinch point gets created.
A relocation of a stop unit can also be done according to the following installation instructions:
  1. Disconnect the Stop Unit from the compressed air supply to avoid injuries.
  2. Remove the mounting clamps from one side of the base plate and loosen the other side slightly.
  3. Place the Stop Unit into the lower slot of the extrusion with the remaining two clamps. Lightly tighten the clamps and install the remaining mounting clamps on the other side.
