Conveyor: %Installation of chain covers


To install the yellow chain covers, please proceed as follows:
  1. Dispense the electrical supply of the entire conveyor system and secure against reconnection.
  2. Insert the half chain cover (looks like a crescent) into the lower groove of the extrusion facing with the half-moon to the roller shaft.
  3. Press the chain cover with slight pressure into the upper groove of the extrusion.
  4. The chain cover is inserted in both grooves and can be shifted to the shaft of the roller easily.
  5. Insert the opposite half chain cover in the same way.
  6. Fill the gap between the installed half covers with ‘full’ chain covers so that the entire chain is covered.

Missing or incorrectly installed chain covers can damage the chain drive in the long run.
Missing covers are a major safety issue.
Please make sure that all covers are installed completely and correctly.

Conveyor: %Electrical Installation


The electrical installation of the LOGO!MAT Roller Conveyor sections and its drive stations must be performed by authorized technical personnel only.
 
It is essential to ensure that the transport direction is consistent with the direction of the drive station, which is shown with an arrow on every drive unit.
 
If an electrical installation is provided by LOGOMAT automation systems, Inc. you will get separate documentation for that with all details.

Conveyor: %Chain tensioner setup


Our automatic spring loaded chain tensioners in every drive station are almost maintenance free but the tensioner travel is not enough for the standard lengthening of the drive chain in long conveyor sections. We are already using pre stretched chain but it still lengthens by 2-3 % without the need to be replaced. The longest LOGO!MAT Conveyor section with one continuous chain is 7,524 mm long which leads to a chain length of more than 15,000 mm. A 3 % stretch would lengthen the chain by 450 mm.
 
The reference for the color code should be the center of the chain tensioner slider.

Conveyor: %Lubricating the chain


Every driven conveyor section has a chain lubrication point marked with a red arrow or yellow lubrication symbol at the outside of the frame extrusion where the lubrication can access to the chain links. This point can be found close to the drive station on the driven side. The given interface is a M5 thread that can either be used for a grease fitting or any other interface for the preferred lubrication method. Spray oil can also be used to lubricate the chain directly through the open hole by using a nozzle. LOGOMAT automation systems, Inc. offers automatic lubrication as an option as well.
 
Chain spray or chain grease is recommended as a chain lubricant. It lubricates the chain properly and will not bind dirt particles or adheres the particles to the chain. Chain oil can also be used, but it must be controlled so that the oil doesn’t get distributed too much.
 
The manufacturer recommends Klüber Lubrication - STRUCTOVIS BHD 75 S (Item no. 015061) for re-lubrication of the chain.
 
Time interval: Lubrication should be done every four months. Please watch the condition of the chain constantly and lubricate the chain earlier if needed.
 
The wear of the chain can be reduced if the provided chain covers are completely installed and the chain doesn’t get contaminated.

Conveyor: %Mechanical Installation


The set up and installation of the entire conveyor system must be performed according to the Technical Documentation "Set up and Installation“. (See documentation binder or yellow envelope, which was delivered with the conveyor system.) This part of the entire documentation packet describes the first and others in details to ensure proper set up of the LOGO!MAT Conveyor System.
 
For proper function of the roller conveyor, all working steps must be done performed to the documentation.
 
At the first run off, make absolutely sure that there is no unusual noise created by foreign objects in the drive system. Switch the drive motor(s) off immediately if the system is making unusual noises. Please contact the LOGOMAT Service and Support Team immediately for further instructions.

Swing Gate: %Replace the bridge handle


The bridge handles can be relocated along the extrusion to adjust and allow an economic operating position. Additional handles can be ordered and installed to offer more handle positions for different operators.
 
To change the bridge handles, please proceed as follows:
  1. Lock the Swing Gate in the closed position and make sure that no pallet is conveying through this area.
  2. Remove the mounting bolts and the handle.
  3. Install the new handle in reverse order and adjust the right position. Make sure that the bolts are tightened; otherwise the handle can move during operation.
Damages or broken handles have to be replaced as soon as possible to avoid injuries.

Swing Gate: %Changing the index bushing


To change the index bushing, please proceed as follows:
  1. Disconnect the electrical and pneumatic supply of the entire conveyor system and secure against reconnection. Make sure that there is no pallet on the Swing Gate.
  2. Open the Swing Gate.
  3. Release the two mounting bolts of the index bushing and remove it out of the plastic bracket
  4. Install the new index bushing in reverse order.
  5. Close the gate and check the function of the locking mechanism. If necessary, adjust the distances so that the shot pin can be securely engaged into the bushing.
  6. Put the system back into operation.

Swing Gate: %Changing the shot pin


To change the shot pin, please proceed as follows:
  1. Disconnect the electrical and pneumatic supply of the entire conveyor system and secure against reconnection.
  2. Remove the pneumatic tubes of the shot pin and mark their locations.
  3. Mark the sensor and its position; remove the sensor from the bracket.
  4. Remove the four mounting bolts (M6) of the shot pin and take it out of the bracket.
  5. Install the new shot pin in reverse order.
  6. Re-connect the pneumatic supply of the system and the sensor and adjust the switching distance. Pay attention to the previously made marks so that the previous configuration can be restored.
  7. Check the function of the gate and put it back into operation.

Swing Gate: %Pneumatic Installation


The locking is done with the pneumatic shot pin, which is a spring return device. The home position of the shot pin is up. A 3/2 solenoid valve is required to release the shot pin.
 
The connections for the pneumatic tubes are designed for a tube diameter of 6 mm. Please ensure that pressurized air is dried and filtered and the pressure is in within the stated range.
