To replace the linear guide bushings, please proceed as follows:
  1. Disconnect the electrical and pneumatic supply of the entire conveyor system and secure against reconnection.
  2. Remove the lower protective housing to get clear access to the guide bushings.
  3. Release the tab washers of the shaft connector attachment bolts (with suitable tools).
  4. Remove the attachment bolts and the cross connector.
  5. Each guide bushing is mounted with four attachment bolts. Unscrew the bolts to remove the entire linear guide.
  6. Please follow the steps in reverse order to reinstall the new linear guide bushings.
    Make sure that the linear shaft is cleaned
  7. Manually lift the unit to check if the unit lifts and lowers properly and freely.
  8. Install all safety covers before operating the unit again.
Clean the guide shaft before reinstallation and make sure that all bolts get tightened and the shafts are aligned.

To replace the index pins, please proceed as follows:
  1. Disconnect the electrical and pneumatic supply of the entire conveyor system and secure against reconnection.
  2. Remove the entire indexing plate (see previous chapter).
  3. Loosen the attachment bolts of the index pins.

  4. Press the index pins out of the indexing plate from below with a suitable tool.
    Please pay attention that the index pin gets pressed out evenly and that the bolt doesn’t bend.

  5. Remove the attachment bolts completely and remove the index pins.
  6. Please follow the steps in reverse order to reinstall the new index pins. 
    Make sure that the pallet rests properly on the pins and adjust the flat rest if needed.

To remove the indexing plate, please proceed as follows:
  1. Disconnect the electrical and pneumatic supply of the entire conveyor system and secure against reconnection.
  2. Remove the attachment bolts of the indexing plate.

  4. Install the new plate in reverse order. Make sure that the plate sits correctly with the counter bores on the spacers.

To guarantee a smooth operation, the Lift & Rotate Unit is in its home position when staring the flow process.
  1. If the stop unit is not occupied (no pallet over the stop unit) (S1), a pallet can run in.
  2. If the pallet is identified in the stop position (S1) by the sensor, the pallet can be lifted. With the use of a cushioned stop unit the signals S1 and S4 must be present before the lifting process starts.
  3. Once the unit reaches its end position (S6), the shot pin can be released and the pallet can be rotated.
  4. To guarantee a locking by the shot pin, the index pin has to be extended to stop the rotat¬ing in the respective position. The position is reached, if the sensor S7 - S10 and the sensor S12 are identified together.
  5. The pallet is turned back to its direction of flow, if the locking bolt is locked at 0 degree. That is the situation where the unit can drop the pallet slowly. In exceptional cases a dropping off at 180 degree after the lift and rotate processes is possible, but that requires a bi directional pallet. 
 
Special features of the automatic Lift & Rotate Unit:
  1. The electrical drive may only be switched on, if the sensor S11 is activated.
  2. The electrical drive has to switched off, about 0.2 seconds after the desired rotation position is reached.
 
The operational sequence descriptions are only a recommendation and do not address all control processes. All project related operations have to be done from the operating company on-site.

To tension the chain, please proceed as follows:
  1. Disconnect the electrical and pneumatic supply of the entire conveyor system and secure against reconnection.
  2. Loosen the four mounting clamps of the motor base plate.
  3. Move the entire unit against the running direction until the required chain tension is reached.
  4. Tighten the four mounting clamps.
  5. Connect the electrical supply.
  6. Check the function of the entire Lift & Rotate Unit.
  7. Please follow the steps in reverse order to re-install the indexing plate.

The friction clutch is a safety element and and serves asprotection for the operator and mechanics. The friction clutch is completely tested, pre-adjusted and ready for the operation. However if fine adjustments are necessary, all operating conditions must be checked first. A mechanical overload of the drive caused by a friction clutch adjusted too tight must be avoided in any case.
 
You can find more information in the friction clutch documentation from the manufacturer.
 
To adjust the friction clutch, please proceed as follows:
  1. Disconnect the electrical and pneumatic supply of the entire conveyor system and secure against reconnection.
  2. Remove the protective chain cover (see chapter "Changing the drive motor"), to get free access to the friction clutch.
  3. Remove the safety bolt of the friction clutch so that the adjusting nut can be twisted.
  4. Tighten the adjusting nut by one increment.
    The friction clutch is not infinitely variable. However, it should be adjusted so that the rotation can be stopped easily by hand (manualyl) during operation and movement.
  5. Tighten the locking bolt and make sure that the mark ups match and the holes align.

  6. Install the safety covers and connect all electrical and pneumatic supplies.
  7. Check the function of the entire unit.

The Lift & Rotate Unit is pre-adjusted before delivery. Precise adjustments have to be done with the pallet and its work piece together, and by adjusting the flat index pin to get the pallet properly supported.

To adjust the flat index pin, please proceed as follows:
  1. Disconnect the electrical and pneumatic supply of the entire conveyor system and secure against reconnection.
  2. Loosen the set screw at the adjustable flat rest.

  3. Turn the flat index pin in or out according to the needed adjustments (with suitable tools). The index pin is pre-tensioned by spring washers to avoid self-turning.

  4. Push the pallet including the work piece manually above the Lift & Rotate Unit, lift the pallet with the unit and check if the pallet has a solid support from the indexing plate.
  5. If the position is well defined, remove the pallet of the Lift & Rotate Unit and tighten the set screw to secure the rest position.
    If not, please adjust the heights again and follow steps 4 and 5 until the pallet sits properly on the index pins.

To install the Lift & Rotate Unit into the LOGO!MAT Roller Conveyor, please proceed as follows:
  1. Define the area where the Lift & Rotate Unit should be installed. Replace all full rollers with stub rollers in this area. (See the documentation of the roller conveyor for detailed installation operation steps.) The stub rollers on the driven side have to be installed with a 57 mm spacing; on the non-driven side a spacing of 114 mm is sufficient.
    The required stub rollers are not part of the scope of delivery. They have to be ordered separately in case of a component order.
    Oily conditions require a cross drive unit to drive both sides of the stub rollers.
  2. Remove the mounting clamps on one side of the base plate and loosen the remaining clamps.
  3. Slide the entire Lift & Rotate Unit [from below] with the remaining mounting clamps into the inner, lower slot of the conveyor bottom rail extrusion and reattach the removed mounting clamps enough so that movement of the entire unit is still possible.
    Pay attention that the direction of the conveyor flow (information on the drive station) and the arrow of the stop unit match.
  4. Push an empty pallet into the cushioned stop unit until the end position is reached and the return stop is locked.
  5. Check the position of the pallet and adjust the unit location if necessary.
  6. Tighten the mounting clamps of the Lift & Rotate Unit to the conveyor.
    The mounting clamps have to be locked into the extrusion correctly, to avoid movement of the unit.
  7. Install the drive unit of the Lift & Rotate Unit with electrical drive. Insert the drive unit into the conveyor extrusion, identical to step #2, and tension the drive chain (see chapter of "Tension the Drive Chain").
  8. Check for sufficient clearance of the horizontal stop movement manually and adjust the roller configuration if needed to avoid any pinch points or collisions with the rollers.
  9. Supply the pneumatic and electrical connections according to the wiring diagrams.
  10. Check and test the function of the entire Lift & Rotate Unit.
